Join Connie Byers of Byers Ranch Apothecary for a hands-on herbal first aid workshop focused on practical, plant-based support for everyday bumps, scrapes, bites, and minor discomforts.
 
In this grounded and approachable class, we’ll explore some of the most versatile first-aid plants — including local herbal allies like yarrow, plantain, mullein, and more — and how they’ve been traditionally used to support the body.
 
You’ll learn how to recognize key herbs, when to use them (and when not to), along with foundational preparation methods such as poultices, infusions, decoctions, and salve-style applications. We’ll also discuss safe and respectful wild foraging practices, so you understand how to work with these plants in a way that honors both your health and the land.
 
As part of the class, each participant will create their own Emergency Poultice Blend — a ready-to-use dried herbal mix designed for minor skin irritations like bites, stings, and scrapes.
 
This class blends traditional knowledge with modern safety awareness, helping you build confidence in simple, effective herbal care you can actually use.
 
Whether you’re a gardener, hiker, parent, homesteader, or simply curious about herbal medicine, this workshop will give you practical tools for both home and field.
