I am so excited to share that yesterday was the launch of the Summer issue of Botanical Anthology! The amazing team at Plant Wonder Collective has worked hard to create a visually appealing, practical, cozy, and magical botanical publication about all things plants, herbs, and Summer.

What is Botanical Anthology Magazine?
BA is a seasonal, digital, and print magazine that is a plant lover’s dream! Seriously, it’s going to be your new favorite magazine. The Summer volume marks the 9th issue of the publication and has over 120 plant-centered pages and content written by over 40 contributors—including me! If you love seasonal living, plants, gardening, making unique foods from scratch, botanical skincare products, plant-centric decor, nature crafts, and connecting to the world around you, you’re going to love Botanical Anthology.
What’s in The Summer Issue of Botanical Anthology?
The publication is broken down into seven subsections: Apothecary, Kitchen, Craft, Harvest, Folklore, Celebrations, and View Point for easy reading. Each section offers new opportunities to use herbs and plants in unexpected ways.
Apothecary
Wherever you are on your apothecary journey, this section of Botanical Anthology offers inspiration for incorporating herbs into your well-being and self-care. One of the newest features, “Ask an Herbalist,” answers some of the most common questions beginning herbalists may have. Some of the articles I’m most interested in from this section include Wildfire Smoke Defense Tea by Acorn Herb School, The Magic of Lady’s Mantle by Wild Woods Lane Apothecary, and Summer Nights Electuary by Grace Gunk.
Kitchen
This section is a true gem for those looking to incorporate new flavors in the kitchen. From Hollyhock Wraps with Rose Tahini Sauce by The Medicine Circle to the Strawberry, Lemon + Elderflower Cake by Herbs from the Hills, and the Rose-Infused Lemon Bars by Under a Rin Roof. I’m certain my Summer kitchen will be whipping up some new flavors.
Harvest
The Harvest Section of Botanical Anthology offers tips for bountiful harvests, whether from growing in the garden or foraging in the wild. This is the section I’m being featured in with my article There’s No Such Thing As Weeds, where I show you how to look beyond the leaf and see your “weeds” in a new light. Other articles I’m excited about here include Bee Balms - Summer Flower Fireworks by Plant Magic With Erin and The Abiding Charm of the Hollyhock by Rasa Botanicals.
Craft
Plant crafts offer a sense of wonder, connect us to nature, and impart our lives with just a little bit of magic. Invite plants into your home with projects like Beeswax Dipped Plant Garland by Floras Feast Botanicals, Herbal Summer Camp by Wineberry Adventure Scouts, and Bridging the Disconnect with Botanical Paper Making by Wander Wild Collective.
Folklore
Shed new light on your favorite herbs and connect with plants in a new way with little-known facts, history, and tales of times long ago in the folklore section. Some of my favorite articles are Cultivating Abundance with Basil by Hannah Forest Herbalist and Summer Flower Faeries by The Herbology Faerie.
Celebrate
Find fun ways to add nature to your Summer celebrations! From the Summer Solstice to the First Harvest, Father's Day, and Summer Birthdays, learn to connect yourself to the rhythms of the season. The article I’m most interested in in this section is, hands down, Solar-Powered Turmeric Prints by A Farm To Keep. I can't wait to try this project!
Viewpoint
The Viewpoint section of Botanical Anthology brings interesting people and media to the forefront. Meet members of our community doing good work to uplift voices and protect plants. Personally, I’m looking forward to The Healing Connection Between Plants and People by Rise Rooted Wellness and the Homestead Challenge Podcast Review by Old Wisdom Wellness.
